These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain the rules for using the Vocaland mobile application, website, and related services (“Vocaland,” the “App,” the “Website,” or the “Service”).

What Vocaland is
Vocaland is a vocabulary learning app designed to help users learn words, create decks, review vocabulary with spaced repetition, track learning progress, share decks privately, and learn together with friends.
Vocaland may include features such as:
- vocabulary learning sessions
- smart flashcards and memory exercises
- spaced repetition reviews
- built-in word decks
- custom decks
- words added from photos, screenshots, or saved images
- suggested translations
- learning statistics
- streaks, achievements, and leagues
- friends and leaderboards
- private deck sharing
- free and paid features
We may update, change, remove, limit, or add features over time.
Eligibility
Vocaland is a general audience learning app.
If you are under the age required to agree to these Terms in your country, you may use Vocaland only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
By using Vocaland, you confirm that you are allowed to use the Service under the laws that apply to you.
Your account
Some features of Vocaland may require an account.
You may be able to create or access an account using:
- Sign in with Apple
- email-based login
- another login method we may support in the future
You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for protecting access to your device and account.
You agree not to:
- create an account using false or misleading information
- use another person’s account without permission
- transfer, sell, rent, or share access to your account
- use Vocaland for spam, abuse, fraud, or harmful activity
- interfere with other users or the Service
If we believe your account is being misused, we may limit, suspend, or terminate access to Vocaland.
Display name and avatar
Vocaland may let you choose a display name and avatar.
Your display name and avatar may be visible to friends and in social features such as friend lists, leaderboards, achievements, or shared deck activity.
You agree not to use names, avatars, or profile content that are:
- illegal
- abusive or harassing
- hateful or discriminatory
- sexually explicit
- misleading or impersonating someone else
- infringing someone else’s rights
- spammy or abusive
We may remove or change names, avatars, or profile content if we believe they violate these Terms or create risk for Vocaland or other users.
Learning content
Vocaland provides vocabulary, translations, decks, examples, exercises, reviews, and learning tools.
We try to make learning content useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee that every word, translation, example, or suggestion will always be perfect.
Language learning depends on many factors, including your consistency, level, goals, and practice outside the App. Vocaland can help you learn and remember vocabulary, but we do not guarantee specific learning results, fluency, exam results, job outcomes, or academic performance.
You should use your own judgment when relying on translations or language content, especially in important situations such as legal, medical, academic, business, or official communication.
Photos, screenshots, and image features
Vocaland may allow you to take a photo, upload a screenshot, or choose an image from your gallery so the App can detect text and help you add words.
You are responsible for the images you choose to process.
You agree not to use this feature with content that:
- you are not allowed to use
- violates someone else’s rights
- contains private or sensitive information that you do not want processed
- is illegal, harmful, abusive, or unsafe
Text recognition is intended to help you add vocabulary faster. It may not always detect text perfectly.
After text is detected, Vocaland may suggest translations and allow you to choose which words to save.
Suggested translations
Vocaland may provide suggested translations for words detected from images or added manually.
Suggested translations are provided to help you learn faster, but they may be incomplete, inaccurate, or context-dependent.
You are responsible for reviewing suggested translations before saving or learning them.
We may update, correct, or improve translation features over time.
Built-in decks and vocabulary content
Vocaland may include built-in vocabulary decks and word collections.
Built-in content is provided for personal learning use inside Vocaland.
You may not copy, scrape, export, resell, redistribute, or use Vocaland’s built-in content to create a competing product or service unless we give you written permission.
Custom decks and user content
Vocaland may let you create custom decks, save words, add translations, organize vocabulary, and share decks privately.
Content you create in Vocaland may include:
- custom deck names
- custom words
- translations
- notes
- deck colors, icons, or labels
- learning progress related to your decks
- shared deck links
You keep ownership of the content you create.
However, by creating, saving, uploading, or sharing content in Vocaland, you give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, sync, display, copy, and share that content only as needed to operate Vocaland and provide the features you use.
For example, this allows us to:
- save your decks
- sync them across devices
- show them in your account
- include them in learning sessions
- process them for reviews and statistics
- share them with people you choose
- display them to friends if you use sharing features
This license ends when your content is deleted, except where we need to keep limited copies for backups, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or technical reasons.
Private deck sharing
Custom decks are not public by default.
If you share a deck through a link or with friends, people with access may be able to view, import, copy, or use that deck depending on the feature settings.
You are responsible for what you share and who you share it with.
Do not share decks that contain:
- private personal information
- confidential information
- copyrighted material you do not have the right to share
- illegal, harmful, hateful, abusive, or sexually explicit content
- spam or misleading content
We may disable sharing, remove content, or limit accounts if shared content violates these Terms or creates legal, safety, or platform risk.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Vocaland only for lawful, personal, and educational purposes.
You agree not to:
- break the law
- violate someone else’s rights
- upload, save, create, or share illegal content
- upload, save, create, or share hateful, abusive, harassing, threatening, or sexually explicit content
- impersonate another person or organization
- harass, bully, spam, or harm other users
- use Vocaland to distribute malware, scams, phishing, or harmful links
- scrape, copy, mass export, or harvest content or user data
- reverse engineer, modify, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Vocaland except where allowed by law
- bypass paywalls, subscriptions, usage limits, security measures, or technical restrictions
- use bots, scripts, automation, or artificial traffic to abuse the Service
- interfere with Vocaland’s servers, databases, security, or normal operation
- use Vocaland to build or train a competing product without permission
- sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit Vocaland without written permission from us
We may investigate and take action if we believe these rules are violated.
Free features and paid features
Vocaland may offer both free and paid features.
Free features may be limited, changed, or discontinued at any time.
Paid features may include subscriptions, one-time purchases, premium access, advanced tools, additional limits, or other Pro features.
We may change what is included in free or paid plans over time. We will try to make changes in a fair and reasonable way, especially for active paid users.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Vocaland may offer subscriptions or other in-app purchases through the Apple App Store.
If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Subscription management, billing, cancellation, renewals, and refunds are handled through Apple and your Apple ID settings.
Unless canceled, subscriptions may renew automatically according to the terms shown by Apple at the time of purchase.
You are responsible for managing your subscription through your Apple account.
We may use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, entitlements, and access to paid features.

For App Store refunds, you may need to request a refund directly from Apple.
Pricing changes
We may change prices for paid features or subscriptions.
If you already have an active subscription, Apple’s rules and your subscription terms will determine how price changes apply to you.
We will not charge you outside the payment method you approve through Apple or another authorized payment provider.
Refunds
Because App Store payments are processed by Apple, refunds for App Store purchases are generally handled by Apple.
We cannot guarantee that Apple will approve a refund request.
If you believe your purchase access is not working correctly, contact us and we will try to help restore or verify your access.
App Store terms and Apple
If you download Vocaland from the Apple App Store, your use of Vocaland may also be governed by Apple’s terms, rules, and license agreements.
These Terms apply between you and Vocaland.
Apple is not responsible for providing support, maintenance, warranties, or services for Vocaland except where Apple’s own rules or applicable law require otherwise.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple’s applicable terms for App Store purchases, subscriptions, or app distribution, Apple’s terms may control for that specific issue.
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your use of Vocaland through the App Store. This means Apple may have the right to enforce certain parts of these Terms against you where applicable.
License to use Vocaland
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Vocaland for your own personal and educational purposes, subject to these Terms.
This license does not give you ownership of Vocaland, its design, code, brand, content, systems, or intellectual property.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on Vocaland unless allowed by law or expressly permitted by us in writing.
Intellectual property
Vocaland, including its name, logo, design, characters, mascots, icons, illustrations, interface, software, content, text, features, and branding, belongs to us or our licensors.
You may not use Vocaland’s branding, logo, name, screenshots, designs, or content in a way that suggests partnership, endorsement, or ownership unless we give you permission.
You may share normal screenshots or references to Vocaland for personal, educational, review, or promotional purposes as long as you do not mislead people or violate these Terms.
Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, feature requests, bug reports, or improvements, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.
We may use your feedback to improve Vocaland, create new features, fix issues, or develop related products.
Copyright and intellectual property complaints
If you believe that content shared through Vocaland infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, contact us at:

- a description of the copyrighted work or protected material
- a description or link to the content you believe is infringing
- a statement that you believe the use is not authorized
- any other information that may help us review the request
We may remove or disable access to content that we believe violates intellectual property rights or these Terms.
Privacy
Your privacy matters to us.

By using Vocaland, you agree that we may collect and use information as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, please do not use Vocaland.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your Vocaland account.
If account deletion is available inside the App, you can use that option. You may also contact us at:
When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, App Store, dispute resolution, or technical reasons.
Deleting your account may permanently remove your saved words, decks, progress, friends, achievements, statistics, and other account data.
If you have an active App Store subscription, deleting your Vocaland account may not automatically cancel your subscription. You may need to cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings.
Termination and suspension
You may stop using Vocaland at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Vocaland if:
- you violate these Terms
- you misuse the Service
- your content creates legal or safety risk
- your account is used for spam, abuse, fraud, or harmful activity
- we are required to do so by law, Apple, a payment provider, or another platform rule
- continuing to provide access creates risk for Vocaland or other users
We may also remove content, disable sharing links, restrict social features, or limit access to certain features.
Termination does not limit any rights or obligations that should continue after termination, including payment obligations, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute terms.
Changes to Vocaland
We may update, improve, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of Vocaland at any time.
This may include changes to:
- features
- design
- learning flows
- review systems
- built-in decks
- social features
- achievements
- leagues
- free limits
- paid features
- supported languages
- platform availability
We will try to make changes in a reasonable way, especially for paid features, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will always remain available.
Availability and technical issues
We try to keep Vocaland reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Vocaland may be affected by:
- internet issues
- device issues
- App Store issues
- server downtime
- maintenance
- bugs
- third-party service problems
- data sync delays
- subscription verification issues
- changes required by Apple or other platforms
We are not responsible for losses caused by temporary unavailability, bugs, sync delays, or third-party failures, except where the law says otherwise.
Third-party services
Vocaland may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, subscriptions, analytics, payments, website hosting, crash reporting, notifications, or other functions.
These may include services such as Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Vercel, Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, and others.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, but we try to choose providers that help us operate Vocaland safely and reliably.
No professional advice
Vocaland is a language learning and vocabulary tool.
It does not provide legal, medical, financial, immigration, academic, or professional advice.
Translations, examples, and learning content should not be used as the only source for important decisions or official communication.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vocaland is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not make warranties that:
- Vocaland will always work perfectly
- learning content will always be accurate
- translations will always be correct
- all bugs will be fixed
- the Service will be uninterrupted
- your progress will always sync instantly
- you will achieve a specific learning result
- the App will meet every expectation or need
Some laws do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of learning progress, loss of business, device issues, or inability to use Vocaland.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to Vocaland will not exceed the amount you paid to Vocaland in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 USD, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or rights that cannot be waived under consumer protection law.
Your responsibility to protect your data
We work to protect your account and learning data, but you are responsible for:
- keeping access to your device secure
- using the correct Apple ID or login method
- not sharing private links with people you do not trust
- reviewing words and translations before relying on them
- not storing highly sensitive information in decks
- keeping your App updated when updates are available
Indemnity
If you misuse Vocaland, violate these Terms, or create or share content that causes claims, losses, damages, or legal issues, you agree to be responsible for the harm caused to us, our service providers, and affected third parties, to the extent allowed by law.
This section does not apply where prohibited by consumer protection law.
Export control and restricted use
You agree not to use, export, re-export, or transfer Vocaland in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, or trade laws.
You also agree not to use Vocaland if you are prohibited from receiving or using the Service under applicable law.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws.
If you live in a country or region where the law gives you mandatory rights that cannot be waived, those rights continue to apply.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
If you are a consumer living in a country where mandatory consumer protection laws apply, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you cannot legally waive under those laws.

To the extent permitted by law, any dispute related to Vocaland or these Terms will be handled by the courts located in Wyoming, United States.
If the law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, these Terms do not limit that right.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, Website, email, or another reasonable method.
The “Last updated” date at the top shows when these Terms were last changed.
If you continue using Vocaland after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using Vocaland.

Friends, leaderboards, and social features
Vocaland may include friends, friend requests, leaderboards, achievements, leagues, or similar social features.
If you use these features, some of your learning activity may be visible to your friends.
Friends may be able to see:
Do not use friends or social features to harass, spam, impersonate, pressure, or abuse other users.
We may remove friends, block requests, limit visibility, or restrict social features if needed to protect users or the Service.
